Geleense Oldtimer Parade

Also in 2009, the Geleense Oldtimer Parade was a great success. On the marketplace at Geleen more than 200 oldtimers, classiccars and old motorcycles. The organisation  was in the hands of the International Historic Automobile Club(IHAC). Also the municipal event-office grants its collaboration to this event. The large Geleense market square and around located pavements lend themselves outstanding for such an event. Thus a lot of spectators on this particular event had descended. Remarkable of this event is, that is every year a large number of particular vehicles is present, from the Netherlands as well as from Belgium and Germany. Also in 2009, there a lot of particular and unique vehicles came to Geleen, among which a number of from the beginning of the 20th century but also a number of beautiful postwar sportcars.

Several tours took place, with in between a lunch pause on the Market-place in Geleen. The morning ride conducted concerning the territory of the municipality Sittard-Geleen. The afternoon ride, the vehicles (on voluntary basis) were publicly presented as from a platform. This afternoon ride went along the most beautiful spots of Limburg. On the market square was nevertheless a lt to be seen; there was an exposition of old mopeds, there stood tractors with agriculture tools and played an orchestra there. Much attention also drew the demonstration of the steam rolling mill and not to forget the stationnaire engines! With this rather good wheather one could stay also pleasant on of the many pavements.  At the end there was  a large free lottery under the participants. Given to the many positive responses it is expect that the participation in 2010, becomes still larger. The organisation has then new plans the Geleense Oldtimer Parade for both the participants and public to make it still more interesting.  As we in 2010, also put more accent will on prewar vehicles.  According to initiates the Geleense Oldtimer Parade is one of the best oldtimerevents in the south of the country of Holland and we want keep that gladly this way.

We invite you thus most from to take part in the Geleense oldtimer parade on the 29th august 2010. It promise to becom a particular and sociable day again. Participation is open for cars and engines 25 year and older.

Privisional program :

• From   9.00: Arrival of the participants and taking away papers
• From 10.00: Departure for a first ride. 
•        ± 12.00: re-entry on the market, static show and lunch.
• From 12.30: Departure for a second ride, where the participating vehicles can be presented to public  from a podium
• From 11.00: Music and show as framing programme. Automobilia - and component sale
•            17.00: Free lottery under the participants of tool trunks etc., mark Bamure
